How to activate a device on a Verizon prepaid plan depends on whether you're using an existing line of service, or adding a new one.

Activate a device on a new Verizon prepaid account:

Turn on your new phone.

Follow the onscreen prompts to connect your phone to your Verizon account.

Make a call from your phone to complete the activation.

Change devices on an existing Verizon prepaid line:

Turn on your new phone.

Important
: To upgrade, replace or switch to an
eSIM
-enabled device, you must speak to a
Customer Service
representative (don't use Chat).

Note: If you don't make a call, send a text or use data on your prepaid phone within 60 days of adding funds to your account, any funds you added to your account will be forfeited and your service will be disconnected.
